Now in its third year, the Varistha Cheltenham Premier T20 has become one of Gloucestershire’s most exciting and talked-about amateur cricket competitions. Sponsored by Varistha Software Technologies, this high-octane T20 tournament brings together eight dynamic teams, battling it out for pride, and the prestigious title of Premier T20 County Champions.

Founded by local entrepreneur and cricketer Sathya Prakash, the tournament blends the spirit of grassroots cricket with the vibrant style of international T20 leagues. From coloured kits and pink balls to pumping music and energetic crowds, this is cricket as you've never seen it before in Cheltenham.
The tournament has grown from humble beginnings and continues to receive backing from the Gloucestershire Cricket Foundation. It replaces the historic Arthur Bailey Challenge Cup, offering a modern twist to a traditional summer sport.
The format includes a single round-robin league, with teams playing each other home and away. The top four progress to the playoffs, culminating in a grand final held at the iconic Cheltenham Cricket Festival.
This is a tournament powered not just by cricket, but by community, passion, and ambition. Sathya and the organising team are committed to growing the competition, with plans to expand to Gloucester and Bristol and introduce a “Champion of Champions” showdown in the near future.
Games are played on Tuesday evenings from May through July, with the final week delivering a showpiece cricketing spectacle for all fans. Whether you're a die-hard club supporter, a casual fan, or a curious newcomer – the Varistha Cheltenham Premier T20 offers entertainment, energy, and unforgettable cricket moments.
