Solid Training Performance

Thank you all for turning out today for what was, admittedly, a marathon first session of the season. Rest assured — the normal matches won’t be anywhere near as long. We usually only have four batting pairs per team, but with six pairs today we wanted to make sure the girls had plenty of time out in the middle, getting a feel for both softball and hardball.

There was some brilliant enthusiasm on show and more than a few moments of magic. It’s a great sign for the summer ahead. Every single girl will grow in confidence and skill as we go — that’s all we can ever ask for.

A few early‑season areas to sharpen up: calling and running between the wickets, backing up in the field, and trimming down the wides. All perfectly normal for game one, and all things that will improve quickly with more time together.

What really stood out today was the effort, the energy, and some very impressive hardball batting.
