The move from soft to hard ball cricket is an important
stage in a player’s journey and can shape confidence, enjoyment and long-term
involvement in the game. Transitioning from soft to hard ball helps coaches
understand how to support players through this change in a way that is safe,
progressive, and developmentally-appropriate.
·
Progressive challenge: introducing hard ball
demands at the right pace
·
Confidence and readiness: supporting players
emotionally as well as technically
·
Development over urgency: prioritising long-term
learning rather than rushing progression.
