Hatherley and Reddings CC Live Streaming Policy
The ECB states that it is “keen to promote positive images
of individuals playing cricket and does not wish to prevent live streaming,
video recording, photography or any other form of capture or use of
audio-visual materials (‘Streams, Photos and Recordings’). However, the ECB
wishes to ensure that Streams, Photos and Recordings within cricket are
captured and used appropriately”.
Hatherley and Reddings Cricket Club (hereafter ‘the Club’)
is committed to ensuring that it provides a form of streaming service for its
members and wider audience. However, the Club also understands its obligations
to everyone affected by live streaming of matches and wishes to be proactive in
adhering to the ECB guidance.
N.B. This policy is designed to cover the live streaming of
matches with a live camera. However, this also applies to the taking of
photographs and other audio-visual recording.
In order to comply with both data protection (GDPR) and Safeguarding
legislation and good practice, the Club will implement the following as its
Live Streaming Policy:
- The
club will live-stream games at North Park (home ground of Hatherley and
Reddings CC) subject to consent.
- The
footage captured will only be played live, via the NV Play Match Centre
and on Play-Cricket.
- The
primary purpose of the live-stream is to provide real-time footage of the
match for spectators, supporters and followers. Secondary purposes include
the capture of ball-by-ball footage for analysis and training purposes.
- The
Club will inform relevant leagues that it will live-stream league matches.
In addition, the Club will inform the opposition and officials of its
intention to live-stream the relevant match at least 48 hours in advance.
- The
Club must have obtained permission to live-stream at least 48 hours before
the scheduled match start time. If there are any objections to the live
streaming, then this cannot take place. The Club notes that it is the
responsibility of the opposition team to ensure that all their players
(and parents/guardians of all players under 18) and officials consent to
the live streaming taking place. The relevant team coach or team captain
will ask for the relevant consent.
- The
Club will pay close attention to safeguarding protocols. If a player for
the Club is under 18, then their parent/guardian’s consent for live
streaming must be obtained prior to the live-stream starting.
- The
Club will prominently display a clear live streaming notice at North Park
and on the Club’s website, to ensure that spectators and other people are
aware that live streaming is taking place.
